Ternryds utmärkelse 2024

Mottagare av Carola och Carl-Olof Ternryds utmärkelse 2024 är Josef Eberhardsteiner and Josef Füssl, TU Wien. Utmärkelsen fördelas 300 000:- till respektive pristagare och 500 000:- till forskningssamarbete med Linnéuniversitetet.

Motiveringen lyder:

Professor Josef Eberhardsteiner established the research unit in Structural Simulation and Timber Engineering at TU Wien. He is a distinguished and leading researcher with a long track-record and a high number of highly cited scientific publications.

There is a long history of collaborations between the research unit at TU Wien and Linnaeus University including co-supervision of PhD students and the conference series CompWood which is co-organized every second year. This collaboration strengthens the international position of Linnaeus University in both research and education.

Professor Josef Füssl is the head of the research unit in Structural Simulation and Timber Engineering at TU Wien since 2018. He has been an external expert in PhD projects and part of fruitful exchanges between the research unit and Linnaeus University.

The cross-disciplinary approach of the research unit at TU Wien will be beneficial for the broader field of green sustainable development at Linnaeus University. There is a large potential for further collaboration, including exchange of PhD students that are currently under recruitment. This will strengthen the established research groups and allow for a strategic development of newly established research areas at Linnaeus University.
